Living in Transition
My future today seems like a fog. It’s unclear, I can’t see how the road ahead turns or continues. All I can do is take a step forward into the unknown, and trust the One leading me. Sometimes it seems like my whole life is foggy at the moment! Uncertainty rises at every corner. We are without clear purpose about the next steps, we are moving house, we are having a baby… I’m terrified, and yet, I am reminded that even though these things seem so unsure, God has been faithful in the past, and I know I can trust Him in these bigger and scarier situations.
As I cried out to God, and asked Him to just show me how the heck I’m supposed to cope in the middle of all this uncertainty… these verses have kept coming up and up and up to me. I can’t escape them. God is being kind in revealing Himself to me, even though I’m so doubtful and broken.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13 The Message (MSG)
"We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation:
Trust steadily in God,
And the best of the three is love.”
That’s all I’m called to do. Trust in Him, keep my hope and love people.
Are you maybe facing uncertainty in some part of your life? Can I encourage you? You may not know the future, but this is God's design for us while we're waiting. Lets get on with it!
